Do you Judge?

Do you think that God will judge and condemn others for doing them and not judge you when you do them, too? Don't you realize how kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? or don't you care? Can't you see how kind he has been in giving you time to turn from your sin?
Romans 2v3-4
I think what this is trying to tell us is that we need to stop looking around us and judging how other people live and the wrong that they do but instead take a good look at ourselves and realize that we also sin and that by Gods grace he has saved us. That it is not through what we know and the good works that we do that casts Gods favour upon us because no matter how many good things we do and no matter how much we know Gods word we still sin, we are still imperfect and do not deserve Gods love and mercy.  However we need to remember how amazingly kind, tolerant, and patient God really is for it is only because of that and the price that Jesus paid on the cross, that we are truly saved. At the end of Romans chapter 2, 2v29
No a true Jew is one who's heart is right with God. And a true circumcision is not a cutting of the body but a change of heart produced by God's Spirit. Whoever has that kind of change seeks praise from God, not from people
This reinforces that it is not through actions but through God working in us and our willingness to change our heart through him.

Knowing God?

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and the sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities - his internal power and divine nature so they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.
Romans 1vs18-20
This verse shows me that each and everyone of us has the truth of God in us and that it is our own sinful nature that pushes it away and choose to go our own way instead of trusting in him. Although we can visibly see the wondrous creation that God has made he still appears to be a mystery to us. I mean when it comes to knowing what he wants for you and the world around you, it is something that you already know deep down inside but can only be unearthed by looking through his word and listening to people who have been down the same path. So slowly you can begin to understand and love God so much more for it.
I think that it is good that God hasn't made it easy though. Or else our walk with God would become boring and we would loose concentration. However when its hard we have to stay concentrated and once where through it we can appreciate God so much more!

Terror in Syrian Hospitals?

It all started mid March this year after the Tunisian Revolution Syria began to rise up, pushed to the edge when residents of a small southern city took to the streets to protest the torture of students who had put up anti-government graffiti. This has led to civil unrest and the Government has began to crack down on these protestors in some unethical ways. What I was shocked to find out though when looking through Amnesty International's website was that some patients coming into State-run Hospitals with wounds from unrest related incidents were being tortured by security forces and even by the medical staff.
Because the security forces have been given free rein of the hospitals they have been able to intimidate medical staff and force them to participate in torturing and interrogating patients who they are suppose to be caring for. Clinna Nasser, researcher for Amnesty International stated that
"It is deeply alarming that the Syrian authorities seem to have given the security forces a free rein in hospitals, and that in many cases hospital staff appear to have taken part in torture and ill treatment of the very people they are supposed to care for,"
One witness was reported saying "There were around seven or eight security men, some carrying rifles, and nurses wearing white robes crowded around him. He opened his eyes and said: 'Where am I?' They all suddenly jumped on him and started beating him and hitting him."
As this disturbing news is being whispered around Syria, state-run hospitals are seeing less casualties coming through their doors especially those suffering from gun shot wounds since May. Which totally contradicts the amount of deaths and casualties out on the street. Instead many patients are seeking medical attention at Private Hospitals or not seeking medical attention at all. However private hospitals are finding it diffcult to access blood from the Central Blood Bank as it is controlled by the Defence Ministry. A medic describes why this a huge problem.
"We faced a dilemma every time we received a patient with a firearm injury and an urgent need of blood: if we send a request to the Central Blood Bank, the security would know about him and we would be putting him at risk or arrest and torture, and possibly death in custody."
Medical Staff are even being tortured and interrogated themselves if they are suspected of not reporting patients to the authorities.

" If You Tell Them to Kill They Kill"

While researching for topics to do my school speech on I came across child soldiers, a terrible issue that is difficult to combat. I instantly became attached to these children and was so horrified to find out what these children (boys and girls) have to go through everyday. Suffering physical, psychological and or sexual abuse.
Did you know that in Burma (Myanmar) alone there are 75,000 innocent children forced to become child soldiers, in other words every third soldier is under 18!
Children are usually brought into this life because of the extreme poverty that they live in, so they and their families feel that the army will be the best option as it will give them the best chance at life. Although in Burma the most common way for children to be brought into army life is by soldiers confronting children who are by themselves in the streets and asking them to produce their identity card. if they are unable to do this then the soldier will give them two options either go to prison or join the army. But in reality they have no choice either way they would still be recruited and the soldier would get cash in return for the child.
These children then have to go through an 18 week basic military training. Where they learn to fire and disarm a rifle, layout explosives , and target practice in addition to continuous abuse. Then usually at the age of 12 they are forced into armed conflict, raiding villages, spying, domestic tasks , etc. Then for some at the tender age of 12 they make their first kill, something that will haunt them and never leave them for the rest of their lives! Could you live with that?
It really does sicken me that people can be so heartless and be apart of recruiting child soldiers. As everyday these kids are having their childhoods ripped away from them and facing horrors that not even a grown man should have to face!
Thankfully though there are people out there who do care. Like Project AK-47, who focus their efforts in South East Asia and Latin America.Through their contacts with local governments they are able to persuade them, usually with educational incentives to hand over the children. educational incentives work because the governments can see that by educating their people their nations can grow. So now these children are put into children homes set up by Project AK-47 where they begin the rehabilitation process. As they say ...
"others train them to kill we train them to love"
So do you care enough to make a difference and see these children live a life free from being a soldier?

Here is a quick clip from Project AK-47 (I promise you it's really good and may help you understand more :) )
